Take advantage of an exciting contract opportunity supporting K-12 students within a special education district near Warren, MI. This school-based social work role spans both the Extended School Year (ESY) and the following academic year (NSY), offering flexible part-time hours over the summer and increased hours during the regular school year.
Key Qualifications:
- Experience as a School Social Worker in K-12 settings, ideally within special education environments.
- Ability to connect and collaborate effectively with students, families, and educational professionals.
- Knowledge of social-emotional interventions and familiarity with IEP processes.
- Current Michigan school social worker certification (310) or eligibility to work under appropriate supervision.
Position Details:
- ESY: June 30, 2026 August 6, 2026 (up to 25 hours per week)
- NSY: August 17, 2026 June 11, 2027 (up to 35 hours per week)
- Serve a diverse student population, addressing a variety of social and emotional needs across grades K-12.
- Conduct individual and group counseling, crisis interventions, and support the development and implementation of behavior intervention plans.
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to empower student success.
- Advocate for students well-being and help ensure they receive the services they need to thrive.
