This engaging position has two available caseloadsone serving K-12 students across all grade levels and one focused solely on supporting high schoolers. Your expertise will play a crucial part in creating a positive and healthy learning environment for children and adolescents.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid school social worker credentials recognized in Michigan
- Experience in school-based social work: elementary, middle, high school, or K-12 settings
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and crisis intervention skills
- Knowledge of individualized education plans (IEPs), behavioral interventions, and relevant school policies
- Ability to collaborate with educators, administrators, and families
- Flexibility to address the unique needs of students at varying developmental stages
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide direct counseling and support services to students, tailored to either K-12 or high school populations
- Conduct assessments to evaluate students social, emotional, and behavioral needs
- Develop and implement interventions to promote student well-being and academic success
- Support students coping with social, emotional, or behavioral challenges
- Serve as a resource for teachers, families, and staff on mental health topics
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to IEP processes
- Advocate for students and connect families with external community resources
