Job Description

Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid school social worker credentials recognized in Michigan
  • Experience in school-based social work: elementary, middle, high school, or K-12 settings
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and crisis intervention skills
  • Knowledge of individualized education plans (IEPs), behavioral interventions, and relevant school policies
  • Ability to collaborate with educators, administrators, and families
  • Flexibility to address the unique needs of students at varying developmental stages

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct counseling and support services to students, tailored to either K-12 or high school populations
  • Conduct assessments to evaluate students social, emotional, and behavioral needs
  • Develop and implement interventions to promote student well-being and academic success
  • Support students coping with social, emotional, or behavioral challenges
  • Serve as a resource for teachers, families, and staff on mental health topics
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to IEP processes
  • Advocate for students and connect families with external community resources
