School Social Worker Toms River, NJ
Sunbelt Staffing is seeking a compassionate and dedicated School Social Worker to support students in a school-based setting in Toms River, New Jersey. This is a great opportunity for a social worker who is passionate about helping students overcome academic, behavioral, and social-emotional challenges while collaborating closely with families and school teams.
Position Highlights
- Provide individual and group counseling and social-emotional support
- Support students with behavioral, emotional, academic, and social challenges
- Participate in IEP meetings, student support planning, and multidisciplinary team meetings
- Complete social assessments, documentation, and case management as needed
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, special education staff, and related service providers
- Communicate with families and connect students with appropriate school and community resources
- Provide crisis intervention and behavioral support when needed
- Advocate for student needs and help develop strategies that promote academic and personal success
Qualifications
- Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) or related field
- Valid New Jersey School Social Worker certification/credential or eligibility to obtain one
- School-based experience preferred
- Knowledge of special education and IEP processes
- Strong counseling, assessment, communication, and collaboration skills
- Excellent organization and documentation skills
