Job Description

A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available to support middle and high school classrooms within the Bethel School District. This role is ideal for educators holding a Washington State Special Education license and ESA certification who are ready to manage a resource (co-teaching) caseload of approximately 30 students spanning middle and high school levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored instruction and support in a resource classroom setting for roughly 30 students.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to co-teach and modify curriculum as needed.
  • Monitor and report student progress on individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Maintain compliance with state and district special education policies.
  • Engage with parents and staff to enhance student development and address educational needs.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Washington State Special Education License.
  • ESA certification.
  • Experience working with middle and high school students preferred.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage a diverse caseload independently without assigned on-site supervision.

Location & Schedule:

  • Assignment based at one middle school and one high school.
  • Located in the Bethel School District area.
  • Full-time, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Contract duration is August through June of the academic year.

Additional Details:

  • Interviews conducted via Zoom.
  • Fingerprinting required prior to start.
  • No training provided upon hire.
  • Position requires a signed contract before commencing work.
