Bring your expertise as a School Social Worker to a supportive educational setting, providing vital social-emotional support to students from both general education and special education backgrounds. This contract position runs from as soon as possible through the end of the school year, offering full-time hours from 8am to 3pm. Youll collaborate with existing staff, sharing a manageable caseload of 15 students, ensuring each child gets the focused attention they need to thrive.

Responsibilities include:

• Delivering social-emotional and behavioral interventions for students in both general and special education
• Conducting assessments and creating individualized support plans
• Collaborating with a fellow School Social Worker to evenly divide the student caseload
• Consulting regularly with teachers, administrators, and families to monitor student progress and adjust interventions
• Maintaining accurate records and compliance with state education requirements
• Assisting in crisis situations and facilitating restorative practices as needed

Qualifications:

• Current MI School Social Worker (SSW) certification or eligibility required
• Experience in K-12 settings preferred, with comfort supporting diverse learning and behavioral needs
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, both with students and multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to adapt interventions for a range of ages and backgrounds
• Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and supportive school environment
