Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active State of Michigan School Social Worker Certificate (310) required
• Experience working with K-12 students, preferably within special education settings
• Strong communication skills for collaboration with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Proficiency in developing intervention strategies and providing crisis management
• Understanding of IEP processes, evaluation procedures, and special education laws
• Ability to build relationships with diverse student populations and advocate for their needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct social work services to students, supporting social, emotional, and academic growth
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to implement individualized plans
• Participate in IEP meetings, providing input for student assessments and behavioral interventions
• Serve as a resource for families, helping to connect them with community resources and supports
• Respond effectively to crises, supporting students through conflict resolution, behavioral interventions, and de-escalation
• Maintain accurate documentation and case records in compliance with district and state guidelines
• Contribute to the development of a safe, inclusive, and positive school climate
