Make a difference supporting students with diverse needs during the upcoming school year! This full-time contract opportunity is ideal for a dedicated School Social Worker ready to provide expertise across multiple school sites near Spring Lake, Michigan, beginning August 25th and continuing through mid-October to cover a maternity leave.
In this role, you will support students across Orchard, Oakridge, and Ravenna locations within the Fruitport Community Schools, working closely with both educators and families to address various behavioral and academic challenges. The schedule is Monday through Friday, and your work will be essential in helping students achieve their fullest potential during a critical period.
Ideal candidates will possess:
- Active Michigan School Social Worker licensure
- Previous experience working with school-age children (preferred)
- Strong understanding of behavioral and academic disabilities
- Ability to build rapport with students, staff, and families
- Familiarity with developing and implementing IEP and 504 plans
- Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills
- Capacity to be proactive and self-directedno supervision for licensure is provided
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing direct support and intervention to students with diverse behavioral and learning needs
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and monitor IEPs and student support plans
- Counseling individuals and small groups to improve social, emotional, and academic functioning
- Acting as a liaison between school, home, and community resources
- Maintaining accurate and timely documentation in accordance with state and district standards
