Empower middle school students to thrive through your expertise as a Social Worker with this long-term contract opportunity supporting grades 6-8. Serving a dynamic and diverse student community, youll play a crucial role in fostering emotional well-being while providing targeted support for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), moderate cognitive impairments, and those in general education settings.

Qualifications:

• Masters degree in Social Work from an accredited program
• Valid state licensure or eligibility for school social work certification
• Previous experience with middle school-aged youth, preferably in a school setting
• Expertise providing counseling and support for students with ASD and moderate cognitive impairments
• Strong collaboration skills to partner with teachers, administrators, and families
• Ability to advocate for students academic, social, and emotional development
• Experience conducting assessments, writing behavior plans, and documenting student progress

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group counseling to address social, emotional, and behavioral needs
• Develop and implement interventions tailored to students with special education requirements and those in general education
• Collaborate with IEP teams, contributing to the assessment and planning process for students receiving special services
• Serve as a resource and advocate for students, families, and school staff
• Support students transition and adjustment within the school environment
• Deliver crisis intervention and facilitate referrals to appropriate services
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive atmosphere where all students can reach their potential
