Job Description

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid licensure as a Social Worker in Minnesota
  • Experience working in school settings, with knowledge of the unique needs at elementary, middle, and high school levels
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students, families, and school staff
  • Ability to assess student needs, develop intervention strategies, and provide crisis management as needed
  • Familiarity with IEPs/504 plans and collaboration within multidisciplinary teams
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage case loads and documentation effectively

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct counseling and support to students to address behavioral, emotional, and social issues
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to create intervention plans and positive school climates
  • Conduct risk assessments and crisis intervention services for students facing critical situations
  • Facilitate small groups or classroom presentations supporting mental health, conflict resolution, and social-emotional learning
  • Maintain accurate and confidential documentation regarding student progress and interventions
  • Serve as an advocate for student needs, connecting families with community resources as appropriate
