School Social Worker Near Scranton, PA | Full-Time Opportunity
We are currently seeking a qualified and compassionate School Social Worker for a full-time position in Scranton. This opportunity is available immediately and will continue through June 9, 2026, with the possibility of extension into the next school year.
This position will support an elementary emotional support program serving students in grades K4. The ideal candidate will be collaborative, student-centered, and experienced in supporting students with social-emotional and behavioral needs within a school setting.

Caseload:
- Elementary emotional support program
- Grade Levels: K4
- Number of Openings: 1
Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling services to students
- Support students with emotional, behavioral, and social needs
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, and related service providers
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
- Assist with behavior intervention planning and crisis support
- Connect students and families with community resources and services
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with district and state guidelines
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Masters degree in Social Work required
- Active Pennsylvania school social work certification or licensure required
- Must hold or be eligible for Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) certification, if applicable through the district
- Current clearances required:
- Pennsylvania Criminal Background Check
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance
- FBI Fingerprint Clearance
- Previous school-based or pediatric experience preferred
- Experience working with elementary students and emotional support programs strongly preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
