Job Title: Part-Time School Social Worker Near Saratoga NY

Location: Saratoga Springs

• Schedule: Part-Time 12 Hours per Week
• Assignment Duration: Late April through June 23
• School Assignment: 1 School

Position Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated School Social Worker to support an 8:1:2 K1 Readiness Program serving young students with diverse social, emotional, and developmental needs. This classroom supports children with limited preschool experience, trauma backgrounds, and autism spectrum needs. The current classroom enrollment is small, allowing for individualized support and collaboration with staff.

The School Social Worker will play a key role in supporting students emotional regulation, social development, behavioral needs, and overall school readiness within a highly supportive educational environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and small-group social-emotional support services to students
• Support students with behavioral regulation and coping strategies
• Collaborate with classroom staff, related service providers, and families to support student success
• Assist in implementing behavior intervention strategies and trauma-informed practices
• Support students with autism spectrum and developmental needs in the classroom setting
• Maintain appropriate documentation and progress notes in compliance with state and school guidelines
• Participate in team meetings and provide recommendations for student support plans
• Help foster a positive, structured, and supportive classroom environment

Requirements:

• Active New York State School Social Worker License required
• Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care and autism spectrum supports preferred
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary educational team
• Prior experience in special education or readiness-based programs is a plus
