This opportunity is for licensed clinical social workers (LCSW) to provide essential social work services within a K-12 school setting in San Jose, CA. Serving a single school with a manageable caseload, this contract role offers the chance to support students social and emotional well-being throughout the academic year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct social work services to students from kindergarten through 12th grade, tailored to individual needs
- Collaborate with school staff, families, and community resources to create comprehensive support plans
- Conduct assessments, counseling, and crisis intervention as required
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to school-wide mental health initiatives
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with district and confidentiality policies
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current and active Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) credential (PPS credential not required)
- Experience working in school settings or with school-aged populations preferred
- Strong understanding of child and adolescent development and social-emotional challenges
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage a case load effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with students, families, and staff
Location: San Jose, California
Hours: Approximately 30 hours per week
Contract Type: School-based contract through the end of the school year (EOSY)
Caseload: Serving one school with up to four openings available
