Job Description
Make a meaningful impact in the lives of children by providing vital support as a School Social Worker for elementary students. This contract position offers the opportunity to work with K5th grade students in a supportive environment dedicated to student well-being and growth.
Starting as soon as possible and running through early November 2026 (with a strong possibility of extension), youll play a crucial role addressing the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students, helping to foster a positive and productive school climate. Your work will be based onsite, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 3:35 PM, ensuring continuity and close connection with staff and students.
Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois School Social Worker License (SSW)
- Professional Educator License (PEL) required
- Previous experience as a social worker in a school setting (K5 preferred)
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and families
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support and counseling to students experiencing social or emotional difficulties
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to create effective support plans
- Conduct assessments, develop interventions, and monitor progress
- Facilitate small groups and social-emotional learning sessions
- Serve as a resource for crisis intervention and behavioral management strategies
- Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reports
