Job Description

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Active Social Work license for the state of Michigan (or eligibility for Michigan licensure)
  • Previous experience in elementary, middle, or high school settings preferred
  • Expertise in crisis intervention, individual and group counseling, and providing behavioral support
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, teachers, and other support staff
  • Ability to develop and implement IEP/504 plans where needed
  • Compassion and a genuine desire to empower students and bolster their well-being

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments to identify students social, behavioral, and mental health needs
  • Deliver direct support through counseling, intervention strategies, and resource connection
  • Collaborate with educational teams to develop and implement student support plans
  • Engage with families, providing education, advocacy, and referral to community services as appropriate
  • Maintain accurate records and document services in compliance with district, state, and federal requirements
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary meetings and contribute to a positive, inclusive school climate
