Job Description
Make a difference in the lives of Michigan students by providing critical support as an onsite School Social Worker. This is a contract position at a vibrant educational setting near Saginaw, focusing on the social, emotional, and academic success of K-12 learners. Youll deliver tailored interventions, both 1:1 and in small or moderate group settings, primarily serving Special Education students. The specific caseload will reflect current school needs and may include elementary, middle, or high school populations.
Key Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Social Work
- MDE (Michigan Department of Education) certification as a School Social Worker (Full Approval or Social Worker Certificate, or SSW 310 credential letter and application in progress)
- Active Michigan State Social Worker license through LARA
- Demonstrated experience working with school-age children, particularly in Special Ed settings
- Strong communication, rapport-building, and problem-solving skills
Your Role:
- Provide direct intervention and social-emotional support for K-12 students, individually and in small or moderate groups
- Collaborate with teachers, administrative staff, and families to coordinate services and monitor progress
- Develop and implement strategies to support positive behavioral and academic outcomes
- Participate in multidisciplinary teams to create and review IEPs and 504 plans as needed
- Maintain thorough documentation that meets district and state requirements
