A full-time school social worker position is available in Rockford, IL, focusing on serving K-8 students in a travel assignment. The role offers an opportunity to work within a supportive school environment, delivering crucial social work services that foster student well-being and academic success.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing counseling services tailored to K-8 students' needs
- Conducting evaluations and assessments related to social, emotional, and behavioral needs
- Supporting students through the standard testing process
- Collaborating with educators, families, and community resources to develop and implement intervention plans
- Managing a caseload effectively, ensuring timely and responsive service delivery
Qualifications:
- Illinois School Social Worker (SSW) license with Professional Educator License (PEL) required
- Experience working with K-8 student populations, preferably in school settings
- Strong assessment and counseling skills, with familiarity in conducting social-emotional evaluations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Flexibility to travel as part of the assignment
This role operates from ASAP through June 5th, with full-time hours (40 hours/week) and assignment to one school. Interviews will be conducted remotely via Zoom in a panel/casual format, and decisions regarding offers will be made promptly.
