Step into a dynamic contract position supporting K-8 students as a School Social Worker for a full-time opportunity running through June 5th. As a vital resource for students, youll collaborate with educators and families to create positive educational environments. Counseling, assessments, and standard testing will form the core of your responsibilities, ensuring every child receives the support and advocacy they need.
What Were Looking For:
- Current Illinois PEL with School Social Worker (SSW) endorsement (required)
- Experience working with K-8 students in a school-based setting preferred
- Expertise providing counseling, evaluation, and crisis support to diverse student groups
- Strong assessment skills for conducting evaluations and interpreting results
- Effective communication, interpersonal, and collaboration abilities
- Adaptability to a fast-paced school environment and openness to working as part of a multidisciplinary team
What Youll Do:
- Serve a single K-8 school to ensure continuity of services
- Deliver individual and group counseling tailored to students needs
- Conduct social/emotional and behavioral evaluations and participate in standard testing
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to develop and implement support plans
- Advocate for student welfare, referring to community services as necessary
- Maintain thorough documentation in line with school and state requirements
