In this position, you'll apply your expertise to help address the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students across diverse backgrounds. By building trusting relationships and advocating for best outcomes, you'll facilitate positive change within the school environment.
Your background includes:
- Current licensure or certification as a School Social Worker (as required by state regulations)
- Prior experience in school settings, delivering social work interventions and supports
- Strong ability to collaborate with teachers, administrators, and outside service providers
- Knowledge of relevant laws and practices, including education and child welfare policies
- Excellent communication, documentation, and case management skills
- Compassionate approach and commitment to fostering student well-being
Key responsibilities:
- Providing direct counseling and crisis intervention for students facing social, emotional, or family challenges
- Conducting assessments and developing evidence-based intervention plans
- Working collaboratively to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans
- Educating students and staff on social-emotional learning and mental health resources
- Assisting families in accessing community services and supports
- Maintaining accurate case documentation in line with professional and district standards
