Job Description

Embark on a meaningful contract assignment as a School Social Worker serving an elementary student caseload in a nurturing school environment near Providence, RI. This opportunity spans from January 27th through March 28th, with the possibility of extension through the end of the school year. You'll work 35 hours per week on-site at a single campus, supporting students, collaborating with a dedicated team, and making a positive impact in an exceptionally supportive and scenic setting.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active Rhode Island Social Worker license
  • Previous experience providing school-based social work services
  • Experience working with elementary-aged children
  • Comfortable documenting services provided for Medicaid reimbursement
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly and build rapport in a new school setting
  • Willingness to complete a National BCI with state/federal fingerprints prior to starting

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct social-emotional support to elementary students during a staff leave of absence
  • Maintain accurate records and log services for Medicaid billing
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and caregivers to develop effective interventions
  • Contribute to a positive school climate by supporting student well-being
  • Participate in staff meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions as needed
  • Adhere to all district policies and procedures regarding student care and confidentiality
