This contract position offers a unique opportunity to support elementary students within a well-regarded school district in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. The role involves providing licensed social work services during a leave of absence, focusing on promoting the social and emotional well-being of young learners. This assignment runs from late January through late March, with the possibility of extension through the end of the school year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver social work services to an elementary school caseload, addressing students mental health and social-emotional development.
- Maintain accurate documentation of services rendered to support Medicaid reimbursement processes.
- Collaborate with school staff to create a supportive and nurturing environment for students.
- Participate in required trainings and onboarding procedures, including compliance with fingerprinting and background checks.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current Rhode Island Social Worker license in good standing.
- Experience working with elementary-aged children in an educational setting preferred.
- Knowledge of Medicaid documentation requirements is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently within the school environment.
- Compliance with national and state background check requirements, including fingerprints.
Location: Portsmouth, RI
Schedule: 35 hours per week
Contract Dates: January 27 March 28 (possibility to extend through the end of the school year)
