Job Description

Make a meaningful impact supporting K-12 students in a Special Education district through this dynamic contract opportunity as a School Social Worker. This role offers the chance to connect with young learners and their families, providing crucial support throughout the Extended School Year (ESY) and the upcoming academic year (NSY). You'll collaborate closely with staff and administration, ensuring every student receives the resources and advocacy they need.

Your commitment will include up to 25 hours per week during the ESY term (June 30, 2026 August 6, 2026), transitioning to up to 35 hours per week from August 17, 2026, to June 11, 2027. This schedule allows for varied, engaging work across a diverse student population.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Active school social worker certification (310), or eligibility with required supervision in place
  • Experience or strong interest working with K-12 students, preferably within special education settings
  • Knowledge of social-emotional learning, crisis intervention, and individualized student planning
  • Excellent communication and rapport-building skills with students, families, and educational staff
  • Strong organizational abilities and a collaborative mindset

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct social work services for students in both group and individual settings
  • Conduct social-emotional assessments and participate in IEP meetings
  • Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and parents to address students social, emotional, and behavioral goals
  • Support crisis intervention and resource connection as needed
  • Help foster a safe, inclusive, and positive school climate
