An exciting contract opportunity is available for a skilled bilingual Social Worker to complete an initial evaluation for a preschool student in the Washington, NJ area. This position is part of a Child Study Team, providing a crucial assessment service and requiring bilingual (Spanish) proficiency for an accurate evaluation.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid licensure/certification as a School Social Worker in New Jersey (or eligibility)
- Fluency in Spanish and English, with experience conducting bilingual assessments
- Previous experience in a school setting preferred, particularly with preschool or early childhood populations
- Strong understanding of the Child Study Team evaluation process
- Excellent communication, cultural competence, and report-writing skills
- Ability to adhere to deadlines and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team
Primary Responsibilities:
- Complete a comprehensive school social worker evaluation for an initial referral, focusing on a preschool student
- Conduct in-depth assessments using appropriate tools in both English and Spanish
- Collaborate with other Child Study Team members, including educators and specialists
- Compile and submit a thorough evaluation report by the specified due date (07/01/2026)
- Communicate effectively with families and school personnel regarding findings and recommendations
- Maintain compliance with all district and state protocols throughout the evaluation process
