Job Description
Make a meaningful difference in the lives of elementary students as a School Social Worker for a full-time contract assignment running from September through the end of the school year. In this role, youll provide essential support to young learners at one to two schools, helping them overcome challenges while fostering a positive, nurturing environment.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Valid Social Worker license (SSW)
- CDE licensure required
- Experience working with elementary school-aged children is highly desirable
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to engage effectively with students, families, and school staff
Role Overview:
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support students social, emotional, and educational development
- Provide individual and group counseling to address learning barriers and promote positive behaviors
- Develop and implement intervention strategies tailored to the unique needs of elementary students
- Assist with crisis intervention, risk assessments, and referrals to community resources as needed
- Document and track progress, maintaining clear and accurate records
- Participate actively in school teams and initiatives focused on student well-being
- Offer ongoing support for staff and families to build a connected, inclusive school community
