Job Description

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active Licensed School Social Worker (SSW) certification in New Mexico required
  • Prior experience as a social worker within school settings, particularly serving K-12 populations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with diverse student groups and multidisciplinary teams
  • Knowledge of best practices in educational social work, crisis intervention, and case management
  • Ability to develop individualized student plans and advocate for appropriate support and resources

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct counseling and intervention services to students, both individually and in group settings
  • Conduct assessments and develop action plans addressing students academic, social, and emotional needs
  • Serve as a liaison among students, families, school faculty, and community organizations
  • Support students facing behavioral, mental health, and adjustment challenges
  • Facilitate parent engagement initiatives and provide staff training on relevant social work topics
  • Ensure strict adherence to ethical guidelines and maintain confidentiality at all times
