Job Description

Desired Qualifications and Background:

  • Current professional licensure or certification in school social work
  • Previous experience within elementary, middle, and/or high school settings
  • Strong understanding of child and adolescent development
  • Ability to connect and communicate effectively with diverse student populations, staff, and families
  • Experience with interventions, behavioral planning, and crisis management in a school setting
  • Comfort navigating group facilitation and individual counseling sessions
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills for maintaining student records
  • Collaborative spirit and commitment to a team-based approach to student success

Core Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments to identify barriers to student learning and recommend strategies for improvement
  • Provide one-on-one and group counseling for students facing academic, social, or emotional challenges
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized intervention plans
  • Collaborate actively with teachers, support staff, and family members to foster a supportive school climate
  • Offer crisis intervention and support as needed
  • Maintain accurate and confidential documentation
  • Refer students and families to community resources for additional support
