Job Description

Qualifications and Preferred Experience:

  • Masters degree in social work from an accredited institution
  • Current social work licensure valid for school settings
  • Prior experience in a school environment or with school-aged children is highly valued
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to navigate and support diverse student backgrounds and family situations
  • Familiarity with crisis intervention techniques and community resources

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments to identify students social, emotional, and behavioral needs
  • Develop and implement intervention plans in partnership with educators, families, and other professionals
  • Provide direct counseling, support groups, and resource referral to students and families
  • Serve as a liaison between the school, families, and community agencies to ensure comprehensive support is available
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of individualized education plans (IEPs) when required
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports in compliance with district and state regulations
  • Deliver professional development and workshops to staff on topics related to student welfare and mental health
