Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current, valid licensure as a school social worker
- Experience working with students at the elementary, middle, or high school levels
- Strong understanding of the unique challenges and developmental stages of K-12 students
- Excellent communication and active listening skills
- Ability to collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families
- Adept at providing both group and individual counseling
- Approachable, compassionate, and culturally sensitive
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to identify students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized support plans
- Offer crisis intervention and short-term counseling for students facing challenges
- Facilitate preventative education to foster positive school climates and healthy coping strategies
- Act as a liaison between the school, families, and community agencies
- Attend student support meetings and provide input on educational planning
- Maintain thorough records and documentation
