Job Description

A full-time school social worker opportunity is available to support K-12 students in a dynamic educational environment located in Naval Anacost Annex, DC. This contractual, school-year position focuses on providing critical social work services that enhance students' school success and emotional well-being.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting individual and group counseling to address social, emotional, and behavioral needs
  • Performing comprehensive assessments to identify student needs and barriers to learning
  • Providing crisis intervention services promptly and effectively
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams for IEP and 504 plan development and implementation
  • Developing and coordinating programs that support student mental health and family engagement
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and case notes in compliance with relevant policies

Qualifications and experience desired:

  • Professional licensure or certification as a social worker with school-related experience
  • Proven ability to manage crisis situations and implement intervention strategies
  • Familiarity with educational laws, special education processes, and related documentation
