Job Description

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (IL PEL) with appropriate Social Work endorsement
  • School-based experience preferred, especially with elementary-aged children
  • Understanding of individualized support for students with Autism and Intellectual Disabilities
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with educators, families, and outside agencies
  • Commitment to creating a supportive, inclusive environment for all students

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide social-emotional support services for four specialized classrooms (two for Autism, two for Intellectual Disabilities)
  • Develop and implement strategies to address behavioral, social, and emotional needs
  • Conduct assessments and collaborate on Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Act as a liaison among staff, families, and community resources
  • Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with district and state standards
  • Work on-site across two elementary locations, adhering to a consistent daytime schedule (8:00 am 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with a 30-minute lunch break; 32.5 hours per week)
