Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students with a range of behavioral and academic needs across multiple school sites in the Muskegon region. This full-time position begins August 25th through mid-October, providing essential coverage during a maternity leave. Youll work Monday through Friday, engaging with students at Orchard, Oakridge, and Ravenna locations in the area.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Current Michigan School Social Worker license (no supervision available; independent practice required)
- Experience working in a school setting, effectively supporting diverse student populations
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and families
- Ability to quickly adapt and serve in different educational environments
- Knowledge of behavioral and academic interventions, IEP processes, and student support services
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide social-emotional counseling and support services to students with various behavioral and academic challenges
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and administrators to address student needs
- Facilitate individual and group interventions, social skills development, and crisis management as needed
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, student evaluations, and the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Connect families with community resources and support networks to promote student success
- Thoroughly document all student interactions and services provided according to district policies
