Job Description
A licensed School Social Worker is needed for a temporary contract position in Minneapolis, MN, to provide critical support to students facing social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. This onsite role involves working closely with school administrators, staff, and families to foster a supportive environment that promotes academic success and overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and indirect social work services addressing students social, emotional, and behavioral needs
- Assist students whose challenges may impact academic performance
- Carry out special education due process duties, including serving as an administrative designee on IEP teams
- Facilitate meetings, document proceedings, and complete required due process paperwork
- Collaborate effectively with school staff, families, and administration to develop support strategies for students
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in education or a closely related field
- Valid School Social Worker license from the Minnesota Department of Education
- Prior experience working in a school-based setting preferred
Position Details:
- Contract duration: Approximately 5 weeks (April 6, 2026 May 8, 2026)
- Schedule: 0.9 Full-Time Equivalent (FTE)
- Location: Onsite in Minneapolis, MN
- Role covers FMLA leave for an existing school social worker
