Job Description

The assignment begins as soon as possible and is expected to continue through November 4th, 2026, with potential for extension.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Illinois SSW license and Professional Educator License (PEL)
  • Prior experience working as a social worker in school settings
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with staff, students, and families
  • Ability to assess and address student needs through individual and group interventions
  • Organized, flexible, and committed to confidentiality and professional ethics

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver school social work services to elementary students, grades K-5, in a supportive, inclusive setting
  • Conduct assessments, develop intervention plans, and provide counseling as needed
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to promote student achievement and well-being
  • Participate in student support and special education teams to develop individualized student plans
  • Respond to crisis situations and provide short-term interventions
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare required documentation
  • Advocate for students social, emotional, and academic needs within the school

This is a full-time, onsite role with consistent hours from 8:00 AM to 3:35 PM, enabling you to engage directly with students and colleagues in a collaborative environment.
