Key Qualifications:
- Bachelors or masters degree in social work (BSW/MSW) from an accredited program
- State licensure or certification as a school social worker, or eligibility to obtain
- Previous experience in a school environment with elementary, middle, or high school students preferred
- Strong counseling, crisis intervention, and conflict resolution skills
- Familiarity with IEP/504 planning and related documentation
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities
- Compassionate, culturally competent, and committed to student wellbeing
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support and counseling to students facing academic, social, emotional, or behavioral challenges
- Develop and implement intervention plans tailored to individual student needs
- Work closely with school teams, families, and outside agencies to ensure coordinated care and support
- Assist in the identification and reporting of at-risk students and help facilitate appropriate services or referrals
- Participate in team meetings, contribute to IEP/504 planning, and maintain accurate records and documentation
- Offer crisis intervention and support as needed
- Advocate for resources and support systems that promote student success
