Job Description

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or masters degree in social work (BSW/MSW) from an accredited program
  • State licensure or certification as a school social worker, or eligibility to obtain
  • Previous experience in a school environment with elementary, middle, or high school students preferred
  • Strong counseling, crisis intervention, and conflict resolution skills
  • Familiarity with IEP/504 planning and related documentation
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities
  • Compassionate, culturally competent, and committed to student wellbeing

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support and counseling to students facing academic, social, emotional, or behavioral challenges
  • Develop and implement intervention plans tailored to individual student needs
  • Work closely with school teams, families, and outside agencies to ensure coordinated care and support
  • Assist in the identification and reporting of at-risk students and help facilitate appropriate services or referrals
  • Participate in team meetings, contribute to IEP/504 planning, and maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Offer crisis intervention and support as needed
  • Advocate for resources and support systems that promote student success
