Youll collaborate closely with educators, parents, and community agencies to ensure every child can access the support they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program
- Valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a School Social Worker
- Previous experience in a school or youth-focused setting is highly preferred
- Strong communication and active listening skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students of diverse backgrounds
- Knowledge of crisis intervention, family systems, and community resource coordination
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions for students coping with social, emotional, or behavioral challenges
- Assess student and family needs, and participate in the development of intervention plans
- Serve on interdisciplinary teams, contributing social work perspectives to IEP and 504 meetings
- Provide crisis response and support services, addressing urgent issues as they arise
- Connect students and families with community resources and support networks
- Deliver parent and staff training on relevant topics such as trauma-informed practices and mental health awareness
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with school and state requirements
