Qualifications & Experience:

  • Masters degree in Social Work from an accredited program
  • Current state licensure as a School Social Worker
  • Previous experience in K-12 educational settings preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and counseling techniques
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive student information with discretion
  • Familiarity with IEPs, 504 plans, and school-based mental health resources

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess students social, emotional, and behavioral needs through observation and direct interaction
  • Provide individual and small group counseling to support student well-being
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop strategies that address student needs
  • Offer crisis intervention and prevention services as needed
  • Support students and families in accessing community resources
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to IEP and 504 plan development
  • Maintain thorough documentation for all cases in accordance with legal and ethical standards
