Job Description

A school social worker position is available for the 2026/2027 academic year in Stillman Valley, Illinois. This contract role offers the opportunity to support middle and high school students in grades 6 through 12, managing a caseload of approximately 35-40 students.

Responsibilities include providing counseling, crisis intervention, and connecting students and families with community resources. The social worker will work closely with school staff to address the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students to promote a positive and supportive educational environment.

Key duties:

  • Conduct assessments to identify student needs and develop intervention plans
  • Provide individual and group counseling to address mental health and social challenges
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to support student success
  • Facilitate referrals to external agencies and resources as necessary
  • Document and maintain case records in accordance with school policies

Qualifications:

  • Licensed or eligible for licensure as a School Social Worker
  • Experience working with middle and high school students preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage a caseload effectively and maintain confidentiality
  • Knowledge of community resources and mental health services

Location:

  • Stillman Valley, Illinois
  • School-based setting

Schedule:

  • Weekly hours generally from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM or 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with some schedule flexibility
