Job Description

Step into a vital support role as a School Social Worker, offering your expertise on a contract basis to high school students who have Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). In this role, you will:

  • Provide social-emotional support to high school students with IEPs as they navigate academic and personal challenges
  • Collaborate closely with educators, families, and specialists to develop and implement students individualized plans
  • Conduct assessments and participate in IEP meetings, advocating for students socio-emotional needs
  • Deliver individual and group counseling sessions, promoting resilience and coping skills
  • Connect students and families to relevant school and community resources
  • Maintain clear, timely documentation and progress reports
  • Educate staff and parents about social work practices and related interventions

We are seeking candidates who have:

  • Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program
  • Valid state licensure or certification for school social work (or eligibility for certification)
  • Previous experience working with students in a school setting, especially those with IEPs, is strongly preferred
  • Solid understanding of IEP processes and special education law
  • Strong communication, organization, and advocacy skills
  • Empathy, flexibility, and a proactive approach to problem-solving
