Job Description
Join a well-established school district in the Los Angeles area as a Social Worker or Marriage and Family Therapist providing critical support to youth and families. This contract role offers a unique opportunity to engage in meaningful school-based mental health services during the 2025-2026 school year, with a start date as soon as possible and concluding June 5, 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and indirect social work or therapeutic services to approximately 20-25 students.
- Deliver social-emotional learning (SEL) presentations in classroom settings.
- Manage the school wellness center and offer crisis intervention support as needed.
- Collaborate closely with school staff and participate in paid team meetings and administrative time.
- Maintain compliance with district policies and complete necessary documentation through the districts IEP system (training provided).
Qualifications:
- Must hold a current California credential as an ACSW, LCSW, AMFT, LMFT, or PPSC SSW.
- Minimum of 1 year experience working with children and youth, preferably in a school-based setting.
- Ability to work 7 hours per day, five days per week (35 hours total).
- Commitment to in-person interviews and on-site work in the Los Angeles area.
- Fingerprinting clearance is required prior to starting.
Location:
- This position serves one local school within the district, traveling between the facilities is minimal.
