Job Description

Key qualifications and experience desired:

  • Masters degree in Social Work from an accredited institution
  • Active state licensure relevant to school-based social work
  • Experience working with children or adolescents, preferably in a school or youth services setting
  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed care, behavioral interventions, and crisis management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a compassionate, solution-driven approach
  • Ability to develop and implement support plans tailored to student and family needs

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting assessments to identify student needs and strengths
  • Supporting students facing social, emotional, or behavioral challenges
  • Developing and implementing intervention strategies and support plans
  • Collaborating with teachers, counselors, families, and outside agencies
  • Providing guidance on issues such as attendance, bullying, family challenges, and trauma
  • Facilitating small group or individual counseling sessions
  • Acting as an advocate for students within multidisciplinary teams
  • Maintaining accurate documentation in accordance with school and legal standards
