Job Description

We are seeking dedicated Social Workers for two distinct contract opportunities in the vicinity of Lapeer, MI. One role covers a diverse K-12 population, while the other focuses specifically on high school students. Both positions offer the chance to collaborate closely with educators, administrators, families, and community partners to foster a supportive, inclusive school environment.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Masters degree in Social Work from an accredited program
  • Valid state licensure or eligibility as a School Social Worker
  • Experience working with elementary, middle, or high school students
  • Knowledge of behavior management, social-emotional learning, crisis intervention, and counseling practices
  • Strong communication and case management skills
  • Ability to develop and implement student support plans tailored to individual needs
  • Compassion, adaptability, and a commitment to student well-being

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct counseling and intervention services to assigned student caseload
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to address students academic and social-emotional needs
  • Conduct assessments and facilitate referrals to external resources as needed
  • Support the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavioral intervention plans (BIPs)
  • Participate in crisis response and prevention activities
  • Help build a positive, inclusive school climate for all students
  • Document services and progress according to district and regulatory requirements
