As a key advocate and resource for students, youll have the opportunity to work with K-12 learnersranging from elementary through high schooldepending on current caseload needs. Your expertise will be instrumental in both small group settings and individualized sessions, addressing the unique social, emotional, and behavioral needs of special education students.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Masters degree in Social Work (required)
- Michigan Department of Education (MDE) certification as a School Social Worker, or SSW 310 credential letter with application initiated
- Michigan State Social Worker license through LARA (current and active)
- Experience in delivering intervention support to children and adolescents
- Ability to foster positive relationships with students, families, and school staff
- Adaptability and skill in managing varying student needs across K-12 or specified grade bands
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide intervention support to special education students in small groups and 1:1 sessions
- Develop and implement strategies to address students social, emotional, and behavioral goals
- Collaborate with educators, administrators, and parents to promote student wellbeing
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to individualized educational planning
- Maintain thorough and accurate documentation
