Job Description

Make a difference in the lives of students by providing essential social work services in a supportive school environment. A full-time contract opportunity is available for an experienced School Social Worker to serve a caseload of 48 K-12 students in the Lansing, MI area. Youll collaborate with educators and families to support the social-emotional well-being of students, promote positive outcomes, and ensure access to resources.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program
• Valid licensure or certification to practice as a School Social Worker
• Prior experience providing social work support in school settings, K-12 strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of current best practices in student counseling, IEPs, and behavioral interventions
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to effectively manage and prioritize a diverse caseload

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct social work services to individual students and groups, addressing academic, social, and emotional concerns
• Develop and implement intervention plans in collaboration with teachers, school psychologists, and other staff
• Advocate for students and connect families with appropriate community resources
• Participate in IEP meetings, assessments, and progress monitoring
• Support the creation of a positive and inclusive school climate for all learners
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in compliance with school and legal standards
• Offer crisis intervention, prevention and consultation as needed throughout the duration of the contract
