This contract opportunity, based near Lake Zurich, IL, provides the chance to work closely with elementary-aged children while collaborating on campus with educators and families. Qualifications & Experience:
- Masters degree in social work is required
- Valid Professional Educator License (PEL)
- Previous experience as a school-based social worker preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with children, parents, and collaborative school teams
- Knowledge of current best practices in school social work
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to identify student needs
- Provide direct counseling and intervention services to individuals and small groups
- Collaborate with teachers and families to address academic or social challenges
- Develop and implement effective behavior support strategies
- Maintain records and prepare required documentation
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team decision-making
- Advocate for students, helping connect them to community resources
