Job Description

Make a meaningful impact supporting students social and emotional growth in a dynamic school environment. This contract role offers the opportunity to provide vital services as a school-based Social Worker in the Kansas City area, collaborating closely with educators, students, and families.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program
  • Valid state licensure or eligibility as a School Social Worker
  • Prior experience supporting children and adolescents in educational or clinical settings
  • Strong knowledge of community resources and crisis intervention strategies
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Capacity to work effectively with diverse populations, including students, families, and school personnel
  • Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced school environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct individual and group assessments to identify students social, emotional, and behavioral needs
  • Develop and implement intervention plans to support students success
  • Provide counseling and crisis management as needed
  • Facilitate communication between students, families, teachers, and outside agencies
  • Maintain accurate confidential records and prepare reports as required
  • Advocate for students well-being and help connect families with necessary community services
  • Participate in IEP or 504 meetings and contribute to team-based student support planning
