Help support student success and create transformative experiences as a contract social worker within a dynamic educational environment near Jackson, MI. Your expertise will be central to promoting student well-being, collaborating with educators, and empowering young people to overcome challenges so they can thrive academically and personally.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program
- Active state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a school social worker
- Previous experience working with children or adolescents in a school or similar setting
- Familiarity with addressing diverse student populations and a range of social, emotional, and behavioral needs
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, families, and community partners
- Compassionate, student-centered approach to providing support and advocacy
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to identify student strengths and areas requiring support
- Provide individual and group counseling tailored to students emotional and social growth
- Develop and implement intervention plans addressing academic, behavioral, and social barriers to learning
- Partner with teachers, parents, and administrators to design strategies that enhance student engagement and well-being
- Collaborate with community agencies to connect families with local resources
- Support crisis intervention efforts as needed
- Maintain accurate, confidential records and documentation in accordance with school policies and legal guidelines
