Make an impact supporting students as a contract School Social Worker in a vibrant educational community near Jackson, MI. This role calls for an individual who is passionate about empowering young people, providing guidance, and fostering a positive school environment. Youll be essential in helping students navigate social, emotional, and academic challenges, while collaborating with faculty and families to create pathways for student success.

Qualifications:

• Valid Michigan School Social Worker licensure is required; Limited License (LLMSW) will also be considered
• Bachelors or Masters degree in Social Work from an accredited program
• Understanding of child and adolescent development, as well as the needs faced within educational settings
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents from diverse backgrounds
• Previous experience in a school or youth-focused environment is preferred

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess students for social, emotional, or behavioral concerns, and design appropriate intervention strategies
• Provide individual and group counseling tailored to support student well-being and growth
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents/guardians to develop and implement student support plans
• Connect students and families with community resources, services, and external agencies as needed
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, assist with crisis intervention, and contribute to the schools MTSS framework
