Step into a rewarding, contract-based opportunity supporting students growth and well-being as a school social worker in a dynamic educational setting near Irwin, PA. Two full-time positions are available, both onsite and focusing on critical student support.
Position 1 provides services at an emotional support program and partial hospitalization program, scheduled to run ASAP through early June 2027. Position 2 is a long-term substitute role, expected from October 2026 through the end of January 2027. Both roles will work with students facing various challenges, providing vital social-emotional services, advocacy, and support to help learners reach their fullest potential.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Hold a Master's Degree in Social Work or closely related field
- Current PA State License as a Social Worker
- Active PDE Educational Specialist certification
- Previous experience in school environments and/or with emotional support and behavioral programs highly desirable
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and educational teams
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a passion for making a difference in young lives
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to identify students needs and develop strategies for intervention
- Provide individual and group counseling focused on emotional and behavioral supports
- Partner with teachers, administrators, and families to maximize student outcomes
- Participate in IEP meetings, create reports, and maintain proper documentation
- Contribute to crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed
- Support transitions for students in the partial hospitalization and substitute programs
