School Social Worker Ionia, MI

Sunbelt Staffing is seeking a compassionate and dedicated School Social Worker for a school-based opportunity in Ionia, Michigan. This is a great opportunity for a social work professional who is passionate about supporting students' social-emotional development, mental health, and academic success.

Position Highlights

• Provide individual and group counseling to students addressing social, emotional, behavioral, and academic concerns

• Conduct student assessments and help identify social-emotional and behavioral needs

• Support students experiencing anxiety, behavioral challenges, family difficulties, and other personal concerns

• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and multidisciplinary school teams

• Participate in IEP meetings and provide social work-related recommendations and support

• Assist with crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and behavioral support

• Connect students and families with appropriate community resources

• Maintain accurate documentation and monitor student progress

Qualifications

• Appropriate Michigan School Social Worker certification or credential required

• Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) preferred

• Experience working with children and adolescents in a school setting preferred

• Knowledge of IEPs, special education processes, and social-emotional interventions

• Strong communication, counseling, and collaboration skills

• Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and school staff
