Make an impact in the lives of upper elementary students as a certified School Social Worker in a supportive and thriving academic environment. This contract position runs from September 28, 2026, through December 18, 2026, and offers a regular daytime schedule of 8:15am to 3:45pm. Work closely with Grades 4 and 5, providing vital support and advocacy to help students achieve their social and emotional goals.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid certification as a School Social Worker is required
- Previous experience working within school settings, especially with upper elementary (Grades 4-5), is highly valued
- Strong understanding of IEP processes, including updates and compliance
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, collaborating effectively with students, staff, and families
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities with attention to detail and empathy
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct social work services to upper elementary students, supporting their emotional and behavioral development
- Serve as a case manager, updating and initialing IEPs as needed, and maintaining accurate records
- Attend and participate in IEP and other interdisciplinary meetings to advocate for students needs
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop strategies addressing individual student concerns
- Provide crisis intervention, assessment, and counseling as appropriate
- Foster a safe and inclusive school climate that promotes student well-being
