Job Description

Transform the learning environment for upper elementary students as a dedicated School Social Worker! This contract opportunity, conveniently scheduled from 8:15am to 3:45pm, runs from September 28, 2026 through December 18, 2026, and focuses on providing vital support to students in grades 4 and 5.

In this essential role, you will bring your expertise and compassion to help students navigate challenges, build resilience, and thrive both socially and emotionally during a pivotal stage in their education. Collaborate with staff and families to create positive outcomes in a welcoming school community.

Your Qualifications:

  • Current certification as a school social worker (required)
  • Experience working within school environments, especially with elementary-aged children
  • Strong understanding of Individualized Education Program (IEP) processes, including updating and case management
  • Excellent communication, advocacy, and collaboration skills
  • Energized by supporting students, families, and staff in educational settings

Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide social-emotional support, intervention, and counseling to students in grades 4 and 5
  • Participate in and contribute to IEP meetings, ensuring compliance and best practices
  • Update and initial student IEPs as necessary, maintaining all required documentation
  • Serve as a case manager for assigned students, supporting their progress and acting as a liaison between school, home, and outside agencies
  • Work closely with educators and administrators to identify student needs and deliver targeted interventions
  • Foster an inclusive, welcoming environment where students feel heard and supported
