Job Description
Make a meaningful difference in the lives of upper elementary students as a School Social Worker this fall. This contract opportunity supports grades 4 and 5 and offers the chance to work within a dynamic and supportive school environment near Holland, MI. Youll play an essential role in helping students, families, and staff navigate challenges and achieve academic and social-emotional growth.
The assignment runs from September 28, 2026, through December 18, 2026, following regular school hours from 8:15am to 3:45pm. Bring your expertise and passion for student advocacy to a role where your guidance and care will truly be valued.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a School Social Worker
- Previous experience supporting elementary-aged students, especially upper grades, is highly preferred
- Strong understanding of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and special education procedures
- Effective communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to case manage and foster relationships with students, families, and interdisciplinary teams
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide social-emotional support and crisis intervention to students in grades 4 and 5
- Conduct assessments and collect data to assist with IEP development and progress monitoring
- Attend and participate in IEP meetings, contribute to team discussions, and maintain necessary documentation
- Initiate or update IEPs, ensuring compliance with regulations and best practices
- Serve as a liaison between school, family, and community resources
